Clean Energy Factory (RTKL)

The dormitory portion has a 20m lap pool, weight gym, sauna, communal bath, library and a big dining hall with fire places. It provides 17 private, 2 guest, 2 staff rooms and the president's suite. Employee rooms use a loft space to benefit from the 4m ceiling. Together with an elaborate palette of interior finish materials, the building attests to the company philosophy placing values on employee welfare. Windows are double glazing in cherry-wood framing for maximum heat insulation and salt water corrosion resistance. Exterior cladding is custom-made stoneware tiles with a low water penetration value. Their color deviation is intentionally made, and arranged to achieve more natural appearance throughout. [design for a Japanese client]
